we all scream for Webzine
Independent online publishing conked me over the head. Just look at the list of sites that participated in Webzine 1999. Those were the days when online anything was getting monstrous funding. Companies couldn't hire fast enough and the future was anybody's guess.
The online magazine I co-founded, Maxi, is still in that 1999 list and now long gone. Same with Betty's site Fucker. Sniff. Where did all these people go? What became of them? Fortunately, there are more online mags that are shinier, glossier, and with spiffier technology. It moves me to see people who bother to make something completely their own and put it out there to share.
Although I have no magazine these days, I'll be DJing the kickoff party and celebrating everyone who has anything to do with Webzine 2005.
