fabinar

Went to a fabulous seminar last night held at 826 Valencia. Dave Eggers moderated a panel consisting of three memoir authors and one book agent. As expected, there was no shortage of entertainment or inspiration. They do these sorts of things about once every month and the funds help keep the foundation alive.

The space has a pirate store in the front, and workshops in the back for young and emerging writers. They say that they always need volunteers and it surely seems worthwhile. Instead of throwing the word "community" around, they have already built a real, live, thriving, and supportive one.

I signed up to join the writers groups that may emerge from last night, but more importantly, I already have my own eyepatch.
